The Girl Can’t help it

The fashion press are still loving girl of the moment Annina Vogel, whose designs last month graced the pages of Elle, Grazia and Marie Claire.  Her designs just get better and better with her new long oversize gold charm necklace which doubles as a belt and bracelet! We have lots of great new Annina pieces coming into the boutique. Diamond swallows, foxes, over the elbow bug bangles and more.  Enquiries are welcome as each precious item is a one off!

If you love retro camera's, the look and results, then check out Tripman. These guys recondition Olympus Trip 35's and lovingly upholser the exterior with coloured leathers and snakeskins. At Benna we think these are the perfect accessories to be rockin this Summer.  Ultra cool and useful, I'll take one in every colour please.........

Unseen Guy Bourdin is an exhibition of previously unseen images from the prolific fashion photographer Guy Bourdin.  Definately not one to miss and on at The Wapping Project till July 4th.

Grey Gardens

Soon to come to our screens is the movie Grey Gardens, about the reclusive socialite Edith Bouvier Beale and her mother Big Edie. Both relatives of Jackie O'nassis who, after losing their fortune, retreated to the decaying family mansion grey gardens, where they lived in dirt & squalor. The riches to rags story, along with her eccentric style and beauty has made little Edie a cult figure. And even in the desperate surroundings of grey gardens her glamour and style remained as she paraded around in a selection of fur coats, gowns, heels and her trademark headscarves. Though before you see the film I urge you to check out the real documentary about grey gardens.

We're really excited here at Benna to be stocking Jennifer Behr's hair accesories and millinery.A cult designer in the States with celeb's such as Nicole Richie, Helena Christiansen and Natalie Portman all donning her designs.

Cherries In The Snow

As most designers and fashion houses are looking back at vintage for inspiration, cosmetic companies are following. Revlon has recently gone back through its archives to relaunch the old school glamour siren red 'Cherries In The Snow'. A shade of red for lips and nails, hailing back to a more glamourous time, when collars and cuff's matched. This colour has even inspired a book of the same name by LA based British author Emma Forrest. Buy both and you'll still have change for a coffee and always judge a book by its cover!!

Humble...

Still a wardrobe basic for many women is the humble scarf either worn with jeans or leggings. Great for a changeable climate and to add a splash of colour. If you're getting bored with skull prints and stars, Jane Carr is the one to go for. Beautiful scarves and styles with dancing patterns and vibrant colours. Just in time for summer and available to buy at Benna.

A Night On Old Street....

Recently two of my favourite photographers had exhibitions on the same evening.

Attack Of The Killer Butterflies

The quirky design duo Imke and Marie recently shot some images using products from the site. My favourite has to be the killer butterflies and reminds me of the technicolor sci-fi's of the 70's.
